UGG in winter: what to check for rain and snow

A cosy-looking pair is not automatically suitable for every winter condition. When choosing UGG, separate the shape you like, the reference's materials and the conditions along your route. The brand name alone does not answer the last two questions.

Read the exact reference's specifications

UGG states that not all Classic boots are water-resistant or waterproof and asks customers to check the model description. Distinguish initial resistance to light moisture from explicitly waterproof construction. Protector spray helps protect the material; applying it does not make every UGG waterproof. Without explicit information for your pair, do not infer rain protection from its lining or sole.

A dry commute and a snowy outing are different

Consider the whole day: a few minutes outdoors, a walk, wet ground or an extended outing. You may prefer one pair for one setting and another for different conditions. Ease of putting them on is not a protective feature, and a sole's shape does not prove grip on ice.

Compare the UGG shapes in the catalogue

The Goldenstar Evelina Burnt Cedar is a clog with a strap; the Lowmel Sand belongs to the sneaker family. These shapes are worn differently. Compare hold and covered areas, then check each model's features before choosing it for outdoor use.

Do not confuse the catalogue's Lowmel 1144032 with the Lowmel Guard GTX 1180512, for which UGG specifies a GORE-TEX membrane. This other reference is not in our current selection.
