Nike and Jordan size guide: women's, men's and GS
To choose your Nike or Jordan size, first check whether the style is a men's, women's or GS model. A US number alone is not enough: men's US 7, women's US 7 and 7Y do not use the same conversion. This guide helps you understand the sizing before ordering a Dunk, an Air Jordan or another pair from the catalogue.
Which chart should you use for your pair?
Check the category on the product page and on your pair's label. For a Jordan GS style, use the Nike kids' chart; for a women's model, use the women's conversions. The chart does not replace fit information for a specific style: shape and support can vary between models.
For example, the women's Dunk Low Disrupt 2 Malachite and the Air Jordan 1 Mid Diamond Shorts GS should not be compared using their US number alone.
Men's Nike and Jordan size conversions
| EU | UK | US men's |
|---|---|---|
| 36 | 3.5 | 4 |
| 37.5 | 4.5 | 5 |
| 38 | 5 | 5.5 |
| 38.5 | 5.5 | 6 |
| 39 | 6 | 6.5 |
| 40 | 6 | 7 |
| 40.5 | 6.5 | 7.5 |
| 41 | 7 | 8 |
| 42 | 7.5 | 8.5 |
| 42.5 | 8 | 9 |
| 43 | 8.5 | 9.5 |
| 44 | 9 | 10 |
| 44.5 | 9.5 | 10.5 |
| 45 | 10 | 11 |
Women's Nike size conversions
| EU | UK | US women's |
|---|---|---|
| 35.5 | 2.5 | 5 |
| 36 | 3 | 5.5 |
| 36.5 | 3.5 | 6 |
| 37.5 | 4 | 6.5 |
| 38 | 4.5 | 7 |
| 38.5 | 5 | 7.5 |
| 39 | 5.5 | 8 |
| 40 | 6 | 8.5 |
| 40.5 | 6.5 | 9 |
| 41 | 7 | 9.5 |
| 42 | 7.5 | 10 |
Nike and Jordan GS: understanding Y sizes
| EU | UK | US kids' |
|---|---|---|
| 35.5 | 3 | 3.5Y |
| 36 | 3.5 | 4Y |
| 36.5 | 4 | 4.5Y |
| 37.5 | 4.5 | 5Y |
| 38 | 5 | 5.5Y |
| 38.5 | 5.5 | 6Y |
| 39 | 6 | 6.5Y |
| 40 | 6 | 7Y |
Y identifies the kids' size conversion. A small size available in GS does not turn that style into an adult version: also check the description, materials and product reference.
Measuring your foot and understanding centimetres
- Place a sheet of paper against a wall and stand with your heel against the wall.
- Mark the end of your longest toe, then measure from the edge of the paper to the mark.
- Repeat with your other foot. Use the larger measurement and wear the socks you plan to use with your pair.
Length alone does not tell you your foot's width. If a pair feels tight at the sides, sizing up may also leave too much room at the front. Ask for advice, specifying the exact model, your measurement and a pair that fits you comfortably.
Nike states that the CM/JP value on a box or label is not the length of the foot. To convert an actual measurement into a shoe size, check the foot-length row in the relevant official guide rather than copying the CM value from your old box.
Dunk, Air Jordan and Ja: should you change size?
There is no single reliable rule for every Nike and Jordan model. Use your current pair as a reference only if the model and category are comparable. For basketball, also check that your foot stays secure when changing direction; a correct size conversion alone does not guarantee that support.
See our Nike Ja 3 White Label guide for information specific to that style.
Questions to check before ordering
I wear size 38: which Nike US size should I choose?
In the charts above, size 38 corresponds to men's US 5.5, women's US 7 or kids' 5.5Y. Choose the row that matches the style.
I'm between sizes: what should I do?
Nike recommends the larger size when your measurement falls between two sizes. Then check support and width for the specific model; avoid deciding solely on the basis of another brand.
Are all the sizes in the chart in stock?
The charts show size conversions. The sizes you can order are those shown on each product page at the time of your visit.
